Yes, especially since you can get it for less then suggested price in
the US. Is this device priced this high in all of Europe?

I traveled out of the US last year and purchased a charger while in
Germany. It worked fine with my US N800. The charger jack is Nokia
standard.

Another poster suggested Fry's. They are the most likely to have it in
the brick and mortar stores in the Bay area.

But if you are staying in one place for a few days, you are likely to be
able to buy it online and have it shipped to your hotel.

Note that Amazon has a very competitive price on this item right now.

Since the US cell phone market is all about the providers, it is
unlikely that you will find the device in cell phone shops in the US.
But it is possible.

Also there are Nokia stores in the US. One is in NYC the other is in
Chicago. Maybe you could make your flight have a layover in one of these
cities and make your layover long enough to trip out to the stores.
These Nokia stores will definitely have the N810.
