Playing MPEG-2 or .tivo files on N800 OS2008

You may want to check out the great tablet-encode scripts available at garage.maemo.org.  I have not used them for tivo files, but have used them to convert DVDs to be played on my 770.  As it relies upon mplayer and mencoder, assuming you have the necessary codecs, you can probably convert those files to something mplayer on your tablet can play.
