Hi Quim, I thing a voting / rating mechanism is interesting as a way of quality management in order to decide which application could "move up" to a central repository. The question remains how should this rating mechanism be implemented? Is one rating category enough? Probable not. And how many different maemo members should have voted on an application before it can be considered to be part in the extra repository? I could imagine different categories which will sum up to an overall rating: * Stability * Usability ** Fingerfriendlyness ** Sylusfriendlyness * Integration in Hildondesktop * Performace * Eye candy * ... The overall rating would be calculated by a key which describes the influence of each criteria. (Stability 30%, Integration 20%, Usability 20% ...) In case the overall rating is above a certain value - let's say 60% than this application could be considered as a candidate to be part of the central repository (Also of course a question of licence etc...). So, how many different user with a maemo login membership will be needed to vote an app up to a repository? More than 10? I don't know. I think the advantage of having more and different categories is that it would also give the product owner (developer) an quick overview where he needs to improve the product to raise the overall rating above the magic line.
