Update: When I export single contact vCards from the default Conttacts app, they _will_ import into GPE Contacts... But, man, that's gonna take forever to do with all of my contacts. :( T. --- Weblog ~ http://tim.samoff.com Baby Blog ~ http://kc.samoff.com Photography ~ http://www.flickr.com/photos/timsamoff Music ~ http://www.adkoc.com ----- Original Message ----- Subject: Re: [SOLVED] Re: Working vCard file? From: Tim To: "Luca Donaggio" CC: "Michael Wiktowy" ,"maemo-users at maemo.org" Date: 03/15/2007 9:39 am That worked! (In the default Contacts app, at least). All I did was change my contacts' version numbers to 3.0 and make sure that there was a line break after each contact... Voila! ;) Now, if I could just figure out a way to import them into GPE Contacts! (An export from the default Contacts app didn't work either.) Thank you! Tim P.S. Shouldn't Nokia know this? :P --- Weblog ~ http://tim.samoff.com[1] Baby Blog ~ http://kc.samoff.com[2] Photography ~ http://www.flickr.com/photos/timsamoff[3] Music ~ http://www.adkoc.com[4] ----- Original Message ----- Subject: Re: [SOLVED] Re: Working vCard file? (One being that mine is v2.1 and yours is v3.0.) This may be trickier than I thought! ;) Thanks! Yeah, I just got this response back from Nokia yesterday: === We acknowledge your inquiry concerning the vCard compatibilities of your Nokia N800 Internet Tablet. Tim, in order to import vCards on your Nokia N800 Internet Tablet, we recommend utilizing Bluetooth wireless technology and vCards that have one contact per card / file. We hope that you find this information to be helpful. === Hmmm. That answers it (I guess). AFAIK Evolution has built a single vCard file with all my contacts within. Luca Donaggio Here it is! I've added these two fake contacts to my address book in Evolution, exported the entire address book (it created the contacts.vcf), opened it with gedit and deleted all my contacts but the fake ones. As you can see I don't have any other informations but names, phone numbers and e-mails. Hope this helps, Luca Donaggio Tim, wait please! I remembered now that when I imported my contacts I was using an older Evolution, so maybe the format was different (now I'm using the latest Evo 2.10); I should still have an old Gnome installation with the same Evo version I used that time, so if you need it, I can build another .vcf with that!
