Fun with gstreamer/dsp

Start Canola. Play a song. Pause it. Switch to a web browser. Click
on a .mp3 link. The built-in Media Player starts up and starts playing
the song you paused in Canola. After a few seconds it changes its mind
and starts playing the mp3 you clicked on. Pause. Switch back to
canola. Unpause. Canola now happily plays the mp3 podcast that is
paused in the media player.

What is at fault here? Gstreamer or the DSP?
