I spent the weekend tweaking vpnc and my home router (Trendnet tw100-brv204, which apparently does support IPSec), and had absolutely no luck. It doesn't help that I'm a newbie to this, but I can't get past this error message that says "BAD_PROPOSAL_SYNTAX". I could be convinced to buy a new router, so has anybody had any luck with the nokia 800, vpnc, cable internet service, and some sort of home router?
