It worked for me on my N800 with the same keyboard last night with a few
provisos
1)  It didn't work first time (don't know why)
2)  I switched on debugging
3)  I was using the smartbt type
4)  # doesn't work (need to use the debug log to find out why)
5)  I was running off local flash.

Switch on debugging in the config file and then do

tail -f /tmp/kbdd.log

and whack away at the keyboard.  There does seem to be a little lag in the
log file getting updated.
