Yeah, the 770 won't drop network connections if they're idle.

Netfilter, or more specifically conntrack, tracks individual server 
connections, though, and killing those if idle will mean things like 
IMAP IDLE won't work - connections for IMAP IDLE (Basically 
push-email that IMAP's had for at least a decade before it became a 
new thing) can lie idle for nearly half an hour.
