That's the point exactly. It did not download the file before playing
it. That's why I said it started playing _right away_. The lights on the
router keep flickering all through playing the video.

Anyway, I'm rebuilding ffmpeg and vlc on the desktop for mythstreamtv
and I'll let you know how it goes.
