Hi, I cross-compiled some GNU utilities and 'tnftp', see http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationCatalog for the deb packages. This was very easy, no actual porting (change of source code) necessary, just setup the scratchbox environment as described in the Maemo tutorial http://maemo.org/platform/docs/tutorials/Maemo_tutorial.html download the sources of these apps, ./configure && make, strip the executables, build the deb packages.
