Ah - thank you! I *knew* something didn't smell right with this :-) I've seen that it does show the right gateway (I think) on my home wifi, so assumed that this dialog box was being truthful. So perhaps the problem I see connecting at this location isn't to do with the gateway, but is something else. I'll investigate the true network setup next time I'm at the gym ... Cheers!
