Hi,

It still refuses.

# vgmknodes -v volgrp0
Using logical volume(s) on command line
# vgchange -a y
1 logical volume(s) in volume group "volgrp0" now active
# vgdisplay volgrp0
  --- Volume group ---
  VG Name volgrp0
  System ID
  Format lvm2
  Metadata Areas 1
  Metadata Sequence No 8
  VG Access read/write
  VG Status resizable
  MAX LV 0
  Cur LV 1
  Open LV 0
  Max PV 0
  Cur PV 1
  Act PV 1
  VG Size 12.48 GB
  PE Size 4.00 MB
  Total PE 3196
  Alloc PE / Size 1536 / 6.00 GB
  Free PE / Size 1660 / 6.48 GB
  VG UUID JK7RNE-DHM2-KNtf-Scua-jOs5-5x11-396xaY

# mkfs -t ext2 /dev/mapper/volgrp0-volume1
mke2fs 1.37 (21-Mar-2005)
Could not stat /dev/mapper/volgrp0-volume1 --- Permission denied

# lvmdiskscan
  /dev/hda1 [ 5.86 GB]
  /dev/hda2 [ 302.70 MB]
  /dev/hda3 [ 12.49 GB] LVM physical volume
  0 disks
  2 partitions
0 LVM physical volume whole disks
  1 LVM physical volume

I can't see what might be wrong. The file in /dev/volgrp0 is a symlink to /dev/mapper/volgrp0-
volume1 and not /dev/mapper/volgrp0/volume1. Could that be the problem?

Any other ideas?
Dp.
