it was a typo on my part. The patch is installed
correctly. I don't have a /proc/lvm/general, but here
is /proc/lvm/global:
[root@mp3gimp lvm]# ls /proc/lvm

[root@mp3gimp lvm]# cat /proc/lvm/global
