Greg has asked me to send it in-line to the list, so here it is :).
I'd appreciate any comments on the patch, please read the previous
threads on the sysfs callback problem first though.

Sorry I was following this section of Documentation/SubmittingPatches,
the patch uncompressed is ~75K:

211 maintainers.  If your patch, uncompressed, exceeds 40kb in size,
212 it is preferred that you store your patch on an Internet-accessible
