bmcsensors and strange sensor values.

I think I may have worked out _what_ is happening, just not _why_. Whenever there is a warning light on the front on the chassis the sensors program will crash as described in the previous email, otherwise it seems to run ok. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? Is there something that the the IPMI interface is returning that the bmcsensors module has not been setup to handle?

I'm still having problems with this bmcsensors module, only this time I get the right readings - when it works. I found from MSI whilst my values seemed high they were correct, so I now have conv_val looking like:

Kernel panic: Fatal exception

The annoying thing is it will not happen every time, and if it works for the first few times after a reboot I can run the sensors command indefinitely without a crash, however if I restart the computer might crash the first time I run it. Anyone have any idea what I have stuffed up? I can send my ksym files if it will help.

Very low, after the * 2 to correct the for the suspect speeds, 703. I have a suspicion that the selected thresholds are the 'nonrecoverable' thresholds. I am not particularly concerned about the threshold values ATM and need to ship the stuff I am working on by tomorrow. We will be keeping a demo of the system so I will look at it again after that.

a better place to swap the limits is in bmcsensors_select_thresholds()
(search for the "fixme" note I put in long ago...)

what fan limit results did you get?
