Hi Larry,

thanks for the answer, here some more information as requested

AP infos:distance: 3m
NEC Aterm WR8600N ATERM-B45459
firmware 1.0.11

Network card is built in into a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge
# lspci -nnv -s 03:00.0
03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8191SEvB Wireless LAN Controller [10ec:8172] (rev 10)
Subsystem: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device [10ec:e020]
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17
	I/O ports at 2000 [size=256]
	Memory at f0500000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3
	Capabilities: [50] MSI: Enable- Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+

# iwconfig wlan0
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:"norbujp"

Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:9 Missed beacon:0

at this point there is according to ifconfig/iwconfig a connection
up and running, but ping tells me:
# ping 192.168.0.1
...
>From 192.168.0.2 icmp_seq=77 Destination Host Unreachable
..

I tried with network-manager as well as without and wpa_supplicant
directly, no change.

Also removing the module and reloading it did not help.

I think it is pretty standard WPA-PSK, is there anything more I can
tell you, please let me know.

See above.

I am running on top of default kernel git, will try wireless-testing, too.

Thanks a lot and all the best, and let me know what I can provide more!
