Dear all,

I have tried unsuccessfully to obtain any WLAN USB stick with a
chipset that supports AP mode.

Turns out that anything current I can buy probably has RTL8187, RT73

There's been recent work on getting rt73 to work as an AP.
Search the list archive for the subject "rt73usb Access
point status" and then "rt73usb: fix for master mode"

But There is still a communication problem when the wireless interface is bridged with an Ethernet one.
