Firstly, the function is called in interrupt context only when an Unrecoverable Error occurs. I think we can afford a little extra overhead in that case. Secondly, this patch creates a duplicate copy of ohci_dump_status(), which is a rather lengthy debugging function. This is hardly elegant.
