OK, I'll check this out later. My main concern is getting my driver sane for now and then working *planned* platform (which would be the Pi Model A, but I'm getting scared :)

In this situation what happens is a split transaction fails (the device
you are using is  full speed and therefore uses split transactions) and
the transaction will get lost in the hub.

Once again, it's good to have an explanation!
