I have no idea. I'm sure there was a slow down on this boot (I posted
right after unplugging the reader and plugging it back in) and the lsusb
contents were accurate. However, I can no longer reproduce it with
either this 3.8.2 kernel or 3.7.10, so I don't know.  Maybe there is
something after boot that is messing things up.
