That seems to basically revert the patch sent earlier by David Daney, if I don't

   Doesn't directly revert but undoes the intended effect of that commit.

mistake? Shouldn't that commit be pointed to as guilty instead of an innocent
merge commit this patch points to?

I mean 53c6bc24fdc8db87109a5760579cbb060fa644cf (usb: Don't make USB_ARCH_HAS_{XHCI,OHCI,EHCI} depend on USB_SUPPORT.)
