One bit more: Identified the bridge controller: JMicron JMS539 "SuperSpeed USB to SATA II 3.0G Bridge". http://www.jmicron.com/Product_JMS539.htm http://www.jmicron.com/PDF/JMS539/JMS539.PDF It possible that the bug only appears when a Western Digital drive is attached with this controller.
