I am not sure what happened with my previous email. Anyway, this problem
seems to be manifesting differently now (maybe someone could elaborate
if any relevant fixes were merged for 3.1.1 kernel). It goes as follows now:
* plug the device
* suspend
* keep using it (I waited for 1 hour)
* disconnect
* reconnect
On reconnection the system will not see the device and the following
