RE: Synopsys DWC driver in Linux kernel

Hi Tirumala, Fushen, Mark,

I have a few questions for your about your Synopsys DWC driver submission:

1) I noticed your submission that is moving original Synopsys DWC driver to platform bus instead of LM bus. Recently, I ran into a bug in dwc_otg_driver_probe function where a call to hcd_init will overwrite the drvdata initialized towards the beginning of that function via lm_set_drvdata(_dev, dwc_otg_device). Have you also seen this problem?

2) I saw some reference on using OTG utils (otg.*) in the discussion. Are you planning to use those inside Synopsis DWC driver (for e.g: after Synopsys driver turns on port power via HPRT bit)?

3) There was also a mention about patch to include the Synopsys driver changes from the Denx tree. How far do you anticipate this activity to start?

Best regards,
Salyl

Does anyone know which kernel version will include Synopsys USB drivers? Will it use the otg.h interface for transceiver control? Does it still register on LM bus or will it use platform bus?

Why not ask the developers who are writing and submitting the code?
