What changed a week ago?

Kernel and weather. There is 1wire thermometer connected to PL2303.

No system updates have been made except kernel. I'm also keeping
with 2.6.32 line, so that's why I've tried different versions.

So what was the working kernel before a week ago?

Thanks for enough pushing. I've realized (later on in bed) not only kernel got changed, but "extra" modules got changed as well to newer version. I've tried to bring back older ones, however no luck. No luck in the meaning device remains silent now. Same goes with 2.6.37.3. I guess connected device has it and events of the last week were just the last kicks. As Libor pointed out, these were just warnings(?), which I didn't know and associated them with the following call(I still have many things to learn).

Thank you both for advices and helping to rule kernel out as much as possible.

Regards,
Z.
