At the moment, I'm trying to see what is different in program flow and data
values between the case with commit 3df7169e in when the enumerate failures
occur, and with that commit out.

The one thing I have learned is that the hub drivers are included in my initrd,
thus I need to remake it and reboot with every change.

When I run out of ideas, I'll summarize what I've learned and ask for help.
