Sarah,

I recompiled the kernel after making sure that my .config was set up
right.  I have attached the .config in this email.

I do get some compilation warnings and a "module mis-match" that I
mentioned before.

Finally I set the USB code to be included in the kernel and not loaded
as a module.  When I did that "make modules_install" complained that it
could not find the xhci_hcd module, which I thought was strange because
the .config file had been set to include it.

In any case, I re-built the kernel, installed it, mounted the debug file
system, inserted the USB drive and then did the "dmesg -n 8" and nothing
came out.

Then I did the "tail -f" and still nothing came out.

It is late here, and I am tired and they turned the lights out on me so
I am typing by the LED in my notebook.

I will try a bit more tomorrow, but in the meantime if you could look at
the .config file and see if I need to turn anything else on, I would
appreciate it.
