Hello,

I use on m HTPC (Upunti Lucid Lynx, Kernel 2.6.25) a LCD-Display from
Soundgraph (http://www.soundgraph.com/oem-lcd-feature-en/). This Display is
connected to the USB-Bus to show several messages.

When shutting down the system, the Backlight is switched of by the
software. A second before the power is switched off, the backlight goes on
again.
I tested the same Hardware under Windows XP, and there the backlight stays
off.
So, there must by a signal or a reset on the USB-Bus before switching off
the Power.

Can anybody tell me, whats the diefference between linux and windows at
this point?

Can you see if there is different USB traffic between the two different
operating systems at this point in time?

Hello Greg,

I think this will be difficult. In my opinion there is something on the USB between shutting down the system and taking the power from the system.
At this time, I only could view the traffic with an other machine.
Or any other ideas how to minitor the traffic?

Daniel
