Sorry, that thing I did about applying the patch to 2.6.33.1 didn't work.  It crashed during boot and the backtrace do not get into the syslog so I can't see it.  I tried to take a picture of it during boot but it happens too fast and gets lost in the noise (the few last lines available are not very telling).

I decided to install Fedora Rawhide in this machine so I can apply your patch cleanly in a 2.6.34-rc kernel.

Is there a way to freeze the boot processes so I can take a picture of it? may be another trick could be very handy in the future.
