Greg is going to be offline for a week or so, and he asked me to look 
after important business in his absence.  Can this patch wait until he 
is able to deal with it, or does it need to be pushed to Linus right 
away?  The problem doesn't seem to be especially new or pressing.

And also, should it be sent to the .stable trees?
