usb 7-1: New USB device found, idVendor=05c6, idProduct=1000

This is a notoriously ambiguous ID. Prior to 2.6.32, this ID gets a switching command no matter what from "option_ms.c". The switching command (REZERO) is targeted at devices from Option (the manufacturer). The patch for 2.6.32 prevents sending it to non-Option devices, some of which will behave irregularly after receiving the command.

If you don't want to update the kernel, try using the usb-storage option "option_zero_cd=2".
