Hi Clemens and linux-usb List I just found the error. It had nothing to do with USB EHCI but with a typo in my .config. FAT_DEFAULT_IOCHARSET was errornously "utf-8" instead of the correct "utf8". Combined with a more than bad error reporting of KDE i got completly of the path in finding this error.
