FW: Help with Ublox GPS device, ttyACM0 and cdc-acm on Debian 5

Hi,

We have built our own little PCB for the NEO-5Q u-blox chip, and when we

plug the USB port into a pc with Windows XP or Ubuntu 9.04 it seems to

be working perfectly. However we are trying to develop our system on

Linux Debian 5.0.0 and when we plug in the USB device, we get a USB

error.

Below is some of the feedback I got when using Ubuntu vs Debian:

in Ubuntu 9.04 it works fine:

bml@blunsky-linux:/$ lsusb

the device appears as /dev/ttyACM0

but on my debian machine, it's just not working:

Apparently this device requires the cdc-acm module which it appears the

Debian machine has. I am also not sure why the Ubuntu machine uses

uhci_hcd but on Debian it uses ohci_hcd?

Thanks,

Benjamin
