The last attempt was a success! I've received hundreds of messages like
these:

but it terminated the sync (the first time in this device!).

The "new factor" could be the front port (maybe not belonging to the
hub) or the combination with the kernel 2.6.26.

Now I'll try to repeat the sync process with the same kernel but with a
rear port. Cross the fingers!
