I have reported a bug to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/339838 - and I have told about the problem in several groups, but nobody have a clue about what the problem is. A short description: when I connect the player to USB, it is not found. lsusb do not show the player. But if I connect it to a winows xp computer, and then back to Linux, then it is found and auto-mount! To me, it looks like Linux know the player (ID 0525:a4a5 Netchip Technology), but for some strange reason fail to connect. But why do it connect after being connected to windows xp? Where should I report this? Original bug report: Ubuntu 9.04 - kernel 2.6.28-8.8 (EDIT: Still not working in kernel 2.6.28.11.14) When I connect my new MP5-player to USB, it is not found. lsusb can't see it. dmesg show some errors and try to re-connect (see dmesg snippet) but no luck. But then - If I attach it to my Win XP computer, where it is found, and then back to the Ubuntu computer, then it is now found and auto-mount without problems!
