First off, make sure you have all of the latest BIOS updates for this
laptop.  There have been a lot of recent XHCI firmware fixes from Dell
that might resolve most of these issues.

Is there any specific thing you can do to reproduce the problem easily?
It looks like the hardware disconnects itself and then problems happen.
Or is that you disconnecting the drive?
