Is there an API (or, set of > descriptors) for the testing device? A couple of the tests can be done using any device. However most of the tests require a special device, running the Gadget Zero code. This code is part of the Linux kernel and it can run on any Linux device with a supported USB peripheral controller. See http://www.linux-usb.org/gadget/ for more information. If you don't have anything else the easiest way to get started is to buy a Net2282 controller from PLX, since it has a PCI interface and can be used on a regular PC.
