Nothing personal, but I'm getting tons of these weird cc lately, so I suspect
there's some automated tool behind it that needs fixing.

    I suspect this tool is called scripts/get_maintainer.pl. :-)
The fact that it gives you emails of all people that modified the file recently is really annoying.
