What is that device?  Is it a EHCI debug device?  Are you sure you
plugged the correct end in?  (The devices I have don't say which way
they go, and I always reverse them, which keeps them from working...)

That's the wrong end, the "client" side, not the "debug" side.

Try reversing it and see if that works.
