Chime,
as I am currently learning voiceover, drop me a private note with some
questions.
If you mean running Linux commands via the Mac terminal, many people on
the mac visionaries list do this many times a day. some use voiceover
there too, some use another screen reader, although I am unsure about
speakup.
As for the keystrokes?
well, depending on the machine and macos you get, one can still attach a
full sized keyboard via USB,
but, much to my surprise, even with my somewhat smaller hands, at some
point the keystrokes will feel more natural.
Indeed, you can not only reduce those keystrokes, but You can use the menu
bar to shorten a great deal.
Which voice is resonating for you?
best off list I suspect,
Karen

Hi All: I will eventually try-and-signup for classes at an Apple
store-and-see if I can learn a Mac? Thing is, probably my favorite Speakup
function is flat-review, which NVDA also has, but if the Mac has it, it may
be complicated, as many items require 3 keystrokes to accomplish, although I
understand there are ways of reducing those to 2. Since Voice-Over has many
options of voices-and-in its graphical site it might be more friendly than
ORCA. Sure many times I would want to use its Linux prompt. With a fact of
Speakup in the kernel, I just wonder how much lee way I have in integrating
the best of both worlds? Thanks so much in advance
