I do not see anything funny though.
I have added a test to prevent the program from crashing now.
Are you saying e.g. if you enter on an option like
'Master' on the sound card you also use for speech, then enter on
"playback volume down from 90 percent"
that the volume does not go softer?
Does the value, in the example above 90 go lower or does it stay at 90?

amixer -c3 get Bass
Simple mixer control 'Bass',0

 Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right
 Capture channels: Front Left - Front Right
 Limits: 0 - 40
 Front Left: 9 [22%]
 Front Right: 9 [22%]
Back again live, like another post yesterday, we didn't notice any changes in the audio, while changing values. I would have to say many other interfaces let you go up-and-down within a value to alter it. Thanks in advance
