Well Greg, I cut-and-pasted in the following: echo "[:dv pr 250]" >/sys/accessibility/speakup/synth_directAnd even when trying to nuke that file, even as root, it did not let me. I also tried switching shells, no change. I would really like getting this working. Thanks so much in advance
