Hello, Thanks for your reply. Requested information below, but and I had to get a set of earbuds to get this, but apparently I am getting sound, though very very low, without headphones pressed to my ear there's no way I can use it. Can I crank up the speakup volume? And for disclosure this is in VMware workstation11 with the vm at workstation11 hardware compatibility using first the 2013 iso and then the latest 2015 iso. Ok, machine. It's a custom built AMD box, it's got a gigabyte GA970 motherboard in it, 32 gb of ram and an fx8120 8 core processor in it, that's why I wanted to use it for vm work. It's 64 bit and the host OS is windows7 64 bit. The VMware product I'm running is VMware workstation 11. I only have one sound card and according to device manager it's announced as a high definition audio device, doubt that's very much help. What I don't get is why the volume is so low on my installation media. Thanks. Dave.
