Serial I/O error on recent kernels

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi folks,

I've been helping Larry Hart with computer lately and we encountered an
issue loading the speakup_dectlk driver on recent (3.x) kernels. It
seems like the serial port is being used by another driver so the
synth_request_region function fails.

I was able to work around the issue by commenting out all the code
inside synth_request_region and synth_release_region, but that's clearly
not a good solution.

I only briefly looked for a better solution, but wasn't able to figure
out what needs to be done, so I hope someone else has better luck :)
