Very odd, you are right of course. I believe they must have changed the flag name at some point. I've had it set so long that I never noticed. The current feature which seems to control that behaviour is block_cursor which you will find under terminal > linux > block_cursor. Set that to zero in the edit pain which you need to tab over one to reach from the options screen once you get there. good luck.
