4. Symlink the new kernel to /usr/src/linux with: "ln -s /usr/src/linux-x.y.z/ /usr/src/linux".
Then compile.
This may seem akward, but it lets you easily go back to your original
distrubtion kernel sources should ever need them for any reason.
