Speakup broken with kernel 3.4.x (ArchLinux users please read)

Hi all,

I see that the goto bug patch was finally applied to the 3.6.0 tree.
Any word on the much more serious spinlock bug? Is Alan's patch still our
best bet, or might it have been fixed another way? Applying that patch
works for the 3.5.1 kernel, but I haven't tried booting without it.

           TIA.
