I'm running speech-dispatcher as a user service and use espeakup on text consoles. I plan to install speech-dispatcher-git, since I was running it from git on Ubuntu before I installed Arch. I'll report any problems I find, and hopefully will be trying my own AUR package soon, as I'm missing a pretty nice speech synthesizer I used to have in Ubuntu. ~Kyle
