Hi Samuel. Kirk suggesteed I write to you about this, and I'm doing so on the list in case others incounter the same problem. I did a dist-upgrade this morning which attempted to install a new version of espeakup. During the installation I got the following error. (Reading database ... 190961 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to replace espeakup 3.1.3-2 (using espeakup_3.1.3-2_i386.deb) ... Unpacking replacement espeakup ... Errors were encountered while processing: espeakup What does it mean that the start| stop arguments must terminate with ".", and where do I fix that? Just for completeness, the debian .deb file I'm installing from is espeakup_3.1.3-2_i386.deb. I tried removing the espeakup.postinst file from /var/lib/dpkg/info and reinstalling, but that ddidn't help. Thanks much. Gene Collins
