Are there any work arounds? > I can at least confirm this. I don't know of any workarouns, and have just learned to ignore the extra speech. I believe the problem is with the way zsh uses the terminal: it would seem to redraw something so that speakup thinks the screen has been updated. I don't know this for certain, but it seems logical to me. Incidentally, could this be the problem with vim as well? Best, Zack.
